This weekend, we visited San Diego to meet with Pappu dada and Nisha Vahini. We drove down on Friday night and reached just after midnight. Pappu dada had booked a room in Paradise Point resort. It was an entire island that had been converted into a tropical resort. On Saturday, after getting ready, we headed for the San Diego pier. We had lunch at a cafe and spent an hour or so walking the length of the pier. In the afternoon, we rented a motor boat in the Mission Bay. The weather was really nice and sunny and we had a great time, taking turns to drive the boat. Later on in the evening, we caught the movie ' Casino Royale' and then had a quick bite at Islands.
On Sunday, Pappu dada took the morning flight back to New York. Nisha Vahini, Ashish and I hung out together. After a heavy brunch at IHOP, we spent some time on the beach that was closeby. We then went to Balboa Park in downtown San Diego. This is a very nice place with lots of museums (from Automotive to Art to History to Science) and gardens. We spent a couple of hours exploring the International houses, then the railroad museum and then took a short hike on the Palm Canyon Trail. It was evening by the time we got back to the room, and after resting a little, we headed back to Buena Park.
We had a wonderful time with Pappu dada and Nisha Vahini and hope to vacation with them again.
