Today we went to the Nortan Simon Museum. Located in Pasadena, it has a nice collection of paintings, from 14th century to the 20th century. The collection was that of Norton Simon, a industrialist from Southern California. The building also houses a huge Indian colelction of stone carvings and brass statues.
We got to see the work of a lot of different artists - from Renoir and Manet to Van Gogh and Monet. There was a considerable collection of paintings and sculptures done by Edgar Degas. We also saw a handful of Picassos, but they were definitely not what we expected! We enjoyed the impressionist paintings the most. The audio tour which can be rented at the main entrance give you very nice explanations of all the exhibits.
